Senior Housing Resources

Senior Book Club

There are many resources to help seniors with housing needs, including programs to make it easier for you to stay in your home.

How do you qualify for low income housing in the Bay Area?

Your household's total pre-tax (gross) income does not exceed the San Francisco's Area Median Income (AMI) by household size and AMI percentage. Income eligibility differs between properties, but generally, it's 100% AMI. (For 2023, 100% AMI for one person is $8404 per month.)

Who qualifies for senior housing in California?

55 and older If a housing complex is designated for individuals age 62 or older, only older individuals who meet this age requirement can live there. If it is designated for individuals 55 and older, at least 80 percent of the occupancy in these apartments must meet this age requirement.
